This piece called “A New Beginning” is a piece I wrote with and for the KOMPOSIT Orchestra in 2021. I was one of 5 young people to be given the opportunity to work with KOMPOSIT’S amazing musicians, to craft a piece of our choosing. With my piece I used it as a chance to reflect on the pandemic and the experience of coming back outside for the first time in over a year. The piece is about the feeling we all had of rediscovery, as we went back outside and explored our local areas again, after the pandemic had ripped through the world. I wanted to have a reflective feeling within the piece yet still have it represent the rural and pastoral setting many of us explored again.
