Award winning Trumpeter and Media Composer
Ethan McInerney is an award-winning, Youth Music NextGen funded, trumpeter and composer currently based in the UK. He has a first class degree with honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in the trumpet, and specialises in orchestral, commercial, jazz, and musical theatre playing. He is also a media composer, writing cinematic music for films, theatre, media projects and programmatic albums. Recently the short film “Terra Firma” from his audio-visual album “Among the Stars” won the 2023 Choice Award at the Paris Fantasy Film Festival and ‘Vajra’, a film investigating mental health and superheroes, won Best Film at the 2025 GRAFTAS.

Composer
Having been the composer for many media and theatre projects over the last few years, Ethan is expanding his portfolio rapidly. An award-winning composer, his works have been shown at film festivals, theatre performances and concerts all across the UK, as well as France and USA, Ethan is an emerging talent in the composition space. He is an adaptable composer and can write music in any genre, from cinematic, classical, Latin/samba to folk and Indian styles.

In January 2026 Ethan received funding from Youth Music through their NextGen grant for his “Among Strange Worlds: An Audio-Visual Album“. The project will run through 2026, into 2027 at which point the project will have it’s world premiere at a venue in Northamptonshire, UK. The album will be an 8-track immersive cinematic, story-driven, album and the project will include a short film scored by Ethan and animated by Dean de Barros. Find out more at the link below.
